Summer 2026 dining information

Summer is here and University Housing and Dining provides many locations for you to eat on campus. 

If you have a summer meal plan, you should know that each meal plan comes with dining dollars that you can use to visit any of our retail locations and market places throughout the summer.  Meal swipes are only good in the market places during the summer.

Many of our dining locations have updated hours for summer 2026, be sure to check before you go. 

  • Burge Market Place will open for service on Saturday, May 30. The market place is open seven days a week. Breakfast is served 7 to 9 a.m., lunch is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., dinner service is 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Closed for breakfast on Sundays.
  • Hillcrest Market Place will be open for lunch Monday through Friday, from 11 a.m. to 1p.m., starting June 8 through July 31, will be closed on July 3.
  • Union Station has closed while construction is ongoing in the Iowa Memorial Union.
  • EMRB Cafe (medical campus) is open 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • The Filling Station (Dental Science Building) is open 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.
  • Food For Thought (Main Library) is closed this summer.
  • Pat's Diner (Pappajohn Business Building) is open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. until May 29. Beginning June 1, Pat’s Diner is open 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. until August 14.  Meal Share will be utilized at Pat's Diner until May 30, when the market place locations open.
  • Power Cafe (Campus Recreation and Wellness Center) will be open seven days a week 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. through June 7. Power Café will be closed June 8 through July 22 due to construction on the café.
  • Yella’s at Black’s Gold Grill is open Monday through Friday 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. except for May 25 and July 3, when the grill will be closed for holiday observance.
  • The Street Hawk food truck will be out and about around campus beginning on July 6.  It will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday. Please check the website for locations and service changes.
  • Clinton Street Market will be open Memorial Day weekend (May 23 through May 25) from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
