Committed to quality

Food for us is more than items on a plate, it's an experience. Our team takes pride in providing the best product by using fresh ingredients, developing partnerships with local sources, and committing to food innovation and creativity.

What good food means to us

Good food is more than just food that tastes good. We believe good food encompasses a passion for sourcing quality ingredients and variety, while still providing nutritional value.

We are committed to providing sustainable products and services that protect our natural resources. When possible, we purchase locally grown and sustainable foods from our vendors.

We purchase the best possible products and prepare them just-in-time or in small batches to ensure the best quality.

Our daily market place menus are comprised of 45 menu items that are on a four week rotation and are served from a variety of made-to-order and ready-made stations. You'll also enjoy several themed dinners, pop-up events, and food tabling events throughout the year.

We take food safety and sanitation very seriously. We work closely with county health officials and are trained in the latest principles and regulations of food safety. Our facilities are inspected regularly to ensure compliance.

Meeting your nutritional needs is our number one concern as we work to provide menu options that will sustain you. Our full-time nutrition specialist and NetNutrition program are excellent tools to utilize when making a nutritious plate.

Our professionally trained chefs use their creativity to make sure you have a variety of menu selections to satisfy and delight you.

We're listening

Market place and cafe menus are developed with students in mind and your input is essential to that process. Comments, suggestions, and requests can be submitted via email at dining@uiowa.edu or via the methods below.

Text and Tell allows you to send our team feedback in a quick and efficient way via your mobile device. Our market places host digital displays which contain the contact information for sending us feedback. Simply, use your mobile device to text our team feedback to the number listed on the screen about your market place experience(s). After you submit your feedback, someone from our team will follow up. You can see comments and responses on the screens in the market places!

You have a voice and it matters to us. Our team takes student feedback seriously and uses it in order to make changes, improvements, and meet the needs of our students.

The Residential Dining Advisory Committee allows you to play an active role in this process and serves as the liaison between student customers and residential dining management. As a member of the committee, you'll review a variety of items including quality of food and service, menus, hours of operation, and operating policies. Meetings are held once per month for roughly one hour.
