National Nutrition Month was founded by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and focuses on the importance of making informed choices when it comes to food. The theme for 2017 is to “Put Your Best Fork Forward” which is meant to act as a reminder that everyone has the ability to improve their eating habits. The University has many different events to help students celebrate National Nutrition Month this year!

March 6-10

Show off your best plate! When in the market places, snap a picture of your meal and direct message it to us @UIowaDining! The best plates sent in will win prizes. However, you have to have all of the food groups, vegetable, protein, dairy, and grain to qualify. For more information on how to build the perfect plate visit:

Come out to the CRWC and show off your dancing skills! Join our Dining Ambassador team and our nutrition specialist Laura Croteau to get in some great exercise at the Zumba class from 6:15-7:15 PM in AR2. There will an awesome post workout snack for those who attend. See you and your moves there!

March 29th is whole grain day! Come join us in celebrating this day by trying something new at lunch! Both of our market places will have a whole grain that you might not think to eat. Come and join our nutrition specialist Laura Croteau, RD for a catered dinner. The conversation will be focused on how to eat healthy on a budget.
